The Story of HEA Books
In 2017, I chose to self-publish my first book. I had *no clue* what I was doing then. In fact, I still don't have a clue some days. But I persevered and in 2018 I attended my first book signing event. The signing wasn't the type to launch my career into Nora Roberts level fame, nor did it even gain me a new superfan. But, what it did do, was introduce me to some fabulously amazing people in the indie romance publishing industry. Other authors, photographers, models, vendors, and some rather amazing bloggers and readers who are really the best type of promotion there is, welcomed me into this world I knew little to nothing about.
Fast forward another year. I attended 2 more signings and joined a creative writing group that is working to book local events. The problem we've found is the rather disdainful view of some stores toward romance novels. To me, that's not okay. Not only does romance provide an escape like any other book, but it also provides hope. Romance novels are categorized by the optimistic, love endures all, endings. And the indie authors who I've had the pleasure of meeting and befriending have put out some remarkable books that range from wildly fantastic paranormal romance to gut-wrenching contemporary romance.
Following the second less-than-optimal meeting, I decided I was done sitting in the background. I want not just my own books to be in a store, but I want to share all the wonderful authors whose books have made me laugh, cry, smile, and rage.
While I work to find a space for the physical bookstore, I'm not sitting on my hands. I'm launching a wave of new subscription boxes that will bring some of these amazing authors straight to your doorstep and into your hands. The launch is scheduled for January 2020. The option to pre-order the first box will go live in November/December and more information will be coming soon!

Giving Back
It's about building and strengthening a community.
HEA Books isn't just committed to bringing authors and artists into the spotlight. It is also about giving back to the community around us. You may have heard of, and even purchased, one of the many charity anthologies that have become more prevalent in recent years. HEA Books will be the first (to our knowledge) charity subscription box. Each month, 50% of the profits will be donated to a local charity. Each box will include a card detailing information about the month's recipient. You get books, fun items, author swag, and you are helping support people in need. Can it get any better than that?
